Helena is Square

February 6, 2008

Check out what my big girl did.  I was working on a piece where I was “paper-quilting,” and Helena really liked it.  I told her that it was easy, and helped pick a few patterned papers & cut out some squares.  She picked the patterns, colors, and did the layout.  Helena Rocks!

I sold a painting!  It was over a week ago already, but i haven’t had a chance to post it here yet.  i am so psyched about it, since it was one of my favorites!  very inspiring.  i am so cool!  touchie-feelie

I didn’t even have a copy of this one in my thumbnail gallery on here yet.  I have to get to framing and hopefully sell some more paintings soon!

I still have a few of these on my To Do list, but Helena won’t be able to make it to Seacret’s birthday party, and Seacret is such a good kid!

Indian Art & History Celebration

November 14, 2007

I really enjoyed the Indian Art Show this weekend despite  having a cold.  It was great to meet and talk to the artists at the reception.  They were all so friendly.  I bought a few prints from Anita Caldwell Jackson.  Below is the print that I bought for Aubry.

Anita’s website is www.twonationsart.com.  I loved all of her artwork.  I bought a print for Helena as well.  It’s actually the image on her business card if you have one, but I bought the pencil-only version.  Anita’s art is awesome.

I also bought Helena a print by Victoria McKinney with the Pink-Poodle contrary.

So many great stories.   The music was also amazing!

Patent# D386690

November 1, 2007

This is actually old news, but i came across this again recently on google patents.

I have a design patent for a travel alarm clock.  It was designed as part of project we did in school for Westclox while i was pregnant with Helena.  Pretty cool though, huh?

Click here –> Patent to download it is a pdf.

My first tile

October 31, 2007

I originally put this up on the Foothills blog, but thought I should share it here as well.

My first tile

Each gallery member received at least 1 of these 6 x 6 masonite “tiles” for their own creative pleasure.  InTown Gallery did a similar project, and put created a larger mosaic piece with all of the tiles.  Pretty cool.

Master of the Obvious

October 30, 2007

In order to  increase awareness for Helena’s halloween costume concept, I updated this old plaid dress to help make it a little more clear exactly what she is supposed to be.

NOTE:  This was just an old plaid GAP dress before i “fixed” it.
